I work on a range of products including defining brand identity, logo design, marketing materials, product packaging, digital material for use on websites and social media and everything in between. You can find out more on my Products page.
Before any work starts I will draw up a full quote. This will include the cost of all design elements and give an outline for the number of proofs (drafts) provided as part of the project.
The quote is worked out based on an estimate on the amount of billable hours. If your needs change and this increases, this would always be communicated and agreed with you.
In general its a case of agreeing the price up front with payment on delivery. Some things will be extra, such as stock imagery or some bespoke fonts. This will always be agreed with you along the way, depending on what you need.
Costs such as printing and production are not included in quotes, and usually the printer or manufacturer will require direct payment. I can work with printers and manufacturers to look at minimising print and production costs if this is a priority for you.
If it's convenient, then face to face is a great way to start a project. If its not then there are plenty of great options.
Generally I prefer Skype as its very easy to use, we can chat, share screens and add other of people to the conversation if needed.
We can agree how you want to work together at the beginning of the project and set out how and how often we keep in touch.
I like to take a collaborative approach, this is our project so we need to work well together.
I try to start with an introductory session where we can get to know each other, if time allows. I am always happy to have a chat so we can gauge if what I offer is right for you and get a better idea of what you need.
Make sure you take a look at my work on this site to make sure the style and quality suits you. If what you are after could be better provided by someone else I will always say so, and can help put you in touch with someone who can help.
All jobs start with a simple contract - minus the jargon.
It protects both of us and outlines the liabilities and limitations of responsibility, clearly setting out what you can expect from me, and what I need from you.
It's a great way of defining a project up front.
At every stage I will supply you with updated proofs (draft versions) as a PDF or in another format we agree.
These allow you to maintain a firm grip on the pace and direction of any work we undertake together.
It can work very successfully to go through this in person or on Skype so that we can talk through what you like and don't like, and I also provide a proof form so we can write down any changes or comments.
Working flexibly means, if I am available, I can work with you to deliver urgent projects.
All project time scales and milestones will be set out and agreed on at the start to keep us on track.
Though even with the best intentions some jobs will evolve and take a little longer. In these cases communication is vital to maintaining a handle on this.
In short - no.
I can work with web designers (if you have one already, or I can make a recommendation) to produce the visuals for the website. This might include versions of your logo, designing icons or illustrations for use on your website. I can provide a web designer with required art work and guidance on your visual identity (like specific colours and fonts) to ensure your website fits perfectly with your brand.
If you are an existing client you can email me, or use the contact form to send me a link to drop box, or another trusted site you have uploaded files to.
